Shining a Light Ornaments!
In: canvas painting, Christmas. light bulb ornaments, snowmen 5:00:00 AM By: Celestina MarieWelcome to today's Paint Palette Wednesday.
Shining a light on ornaments is the busy work going on in my studio. Light bulb ornies that is. As you may know, I have painted these for years. When a light bulb burns out, it gets a new life by becoming an ornament. I like to think of this as my way to help in the plight to go green.
So here is the process from start to finish. First I start with a burned out bulb, drill a hole in the connection, prime with a tile and glass medium, let dry and then paint and decorate.
Here are a few when finished. These are last year's snowladies. I use the tops of socks for the hats and embellish with trims and glitter.
Sorry for the smaller pic. These would not enlarge from my computer. But you get the idea. I have designed hundreds of styles from shabby roses with ribbons, santas, cottages and more. You don't have to paint to make these work for you either. Simply decorate, embellish or add graphics of your choice.
Well, I am swamped with the holiday decor and it's not even Halloween yet. That's how it is every year. And, the season seems to start earlier each year. So I have decided to be done painting after Thanksgiving, so I can enjoy the month of December without being rushed. Christmas should be enjoyed and given time for reflection. Now that's the plan, I hope it will work!!
Hope you have a great day. See you again for Thrifty Thursday.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Hello Celeste... oooh those are just adorable! You come up with the cutest things! It is hard to believe Christmas is so close... yes, I do believe you should take the month of December off for yourself... I am sooo excited for my pink pumpkins... you are too kind and sweet to have made them for me with such short notice... love to you! Bisous... Julie Marie
Celeste, I have always loved your light bulb ornaments!! They are darling! I love to see what you put out for each season :)
Your nails are beautiful too :):)
Love you!!

Wonderful idea Celeste!! If not for the five critters, there would definately be some hanging on my tree. I think I have to find some ornies made from tupperware to prevent damage. Especially with my curious Oscar!! Lovely work friend. Beautiful. Hugs. Tammy
You have done it again. Another brilliant and beautiful idea.

Girl, the first thing I noticed were your nails! ☺ Very pretty! But I did notice the ornaments, too! Very cute and clever! ♥
Meant to also say that I hope your plan works! ♥
Love the little snow-woman faces, so sweet! I also think your plan for December sounds fantastic... hope it works out!!

I will have to remember these adorable bulbs for the charity sale next year!! They are fabulous!!
Isn't blogging great??? We all inspire each other all the time!!

Celeste,
These are so adorable! You come up with the neatest ideas! I love these!
I agree with you about not painting during the holidays. I think that we should all relax and enjoy it this year. I will, except for when I'm at work. Retail at Christmas sometimes brings out the worst in some customers. I hope that they are all nice this year.
Hugs,
Lee Laurie
Celeste, how sweet they are! And how nice to use them and not throw them away.
I'm catching my breath. Errands today. Back to fabric design tomorrow. I'm just worn out today. Shopping for food is nice but we have to drive a long way when we do a big order for the best choices. You know what unpacking it all and putting it away is like!
Now...to put my sore feet up. New shoes!
Hugs!

Hi Celestina Marie,
Oh you are so clever and what sweet little snow woman you have made.

They are beautiful! Who would have thought such beauty could come from a bulb? :) Love it,
Kitty
Your little light bulb ornies are always so adorable. I treasure mine. Think I told you before that my light blue one stays out year-round in our bedroom! BTW, I spy a pretty Southern Belle type figurine on one of your shelves! :0)
