Wrong Email Address

Hello Dear Friends, Hope you are enjoying the week and looking forward to a great Spring Weekend. My remodel is finished and I have some pretty views to share, but before that posting, I thought I'd pass on a little something to make your day light hearted and maybe give you a laugh.

Wrong Email Address
A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules.

So the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston , a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral, a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived
Date: October 16, 2008

Hi Honey, I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I've seen that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then!!!! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.
P.S. Sure is hot down here!!!!

I love your new blog design, compliments your studio. Wouldn't it be scary to get an email like that - especially the last line about being hot down here. Totally funny.

Hillarious! Hope your St. Patty's Day was a fun one. WE had corned beef and cabbage for dinner and Irish soda bread. My son tells me it is not Irish, however. Whatever. It is always such a happy day for most people! I was wearin' the green!

A friend sent me that, the other day ~ my goodness you would get a shock.
A lesson in it, to make sure one has the correct address.
I hope that you had a wonderful St. Patrick's day and I loved reading your post and seeing all the photos.
Your new look to your blog is lovely and look forward to seeing the new remodel.

Hello Celeste,

Thanks for the laugh :-) But how horrible it must be for the widow :-)

How have you been?

I've read you St. Patrick's Day post and have to say, I didn't know it was actually a religious type of special day - how Christianity was brought to Ireland. I do remember in the past people celebrating this day all dressed in green and there are a lot of drinking in that occasion. It is very far out from what the story and reason this day came to be.

I've only seen glimpse of Ireland in movies and on the net and I think those old buildings/castles and vast green grounds is just beautiful! :-)

Li

I am sharing my computer with my son who is living with us at the present time so I am a little late in getting my comments posted. I love reading your St. Patty's post and I had a good laugh with this one and after the week I have had I needed this one. We are in for very crazy weather this weekend. We were in the 50's at lunch and the 30's when I got off work. We have had rain, sleet and snow. Take care Your Missouri Friend

Hi, just visiting your blog..great story about the paster that passed away. Also interesting about the irish history. Im mostly Irish family came here in 1700s. So really didnt grow up to know to much about the Irish. My son went to Dublin 2yrs ago...just to visit. He and his friends went to a little town close by. Karlof(sp) and spent St.Pattys day there. Parade and big Party that evening. Everyone had green cowboy hats on and they played western music. All asked they had been to Nashville. He said everyone over there loves americans. He loved it. Your story of you parent bugaloo brought tears..so familiar to me. I also had to part with my parents home.It is a very sad time. I love your roses and nests...I should paint something with nest and roses. I havent done much of anything and if you go to my blog you will be disappointed..I havent posted for along time. So hard when I have to babysit my granddaughter. Irish Blessings to you! Sally
