Looking back a few years, I shared my family tradition of making Italian cookies made on a special iron maker. I will be making these cookies again this year so I thought I would share with you the process from a post 3 years ago. They are so good! Through the years I have made these for bridal showers along with the holidays. They can be rolled while still warm and filled with creme for a special dessert or by taking two and a slice of ice cream, you have an ice cream sandwich!
Enjoy!
Thank you for your comments. For this one, they are welcome on the post for the cookies. Have a wonderful December day!

A FAMILY TRADITION ~ MAKING PIZZELLES!
In: Christmas, FAMILY TRADITION, PIZZELLES 5:00:00 AM By: Celestina MarieStarting with my grandmother from Italy, to my mother and myself, pizzelles have been a Christmas tradition on our holiday table. This sweet treat is a cookie with waffle style details, thin, crisp and delicious! Flavored with vanilla, anise or almond extract, this lovely cookie is always enjoyed by all on the cookie tray.
Today was my day planned to make our holiday batch. No quick session, for pizzelles are made on an iron similar to a waffle iron and only 2 at a time. As the process continues, you get a momentum going and along with Christmas music in the background, the cookies add up. A usually batch per recipe is 60, but I normally double the recipe because as you would guess, 60 goes fast when this treat is presented. So 120 pizzelles was the order of the day. I took a few pictures to share with you the process. I only wish you could taste them too. OH SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two designs one on each side!
Filling the tins for giving and storing! Now it is time to clean the iron and put it away for the season. So glad you could join me for aother year of a family tradition~~ Making PIZZELLES
Thank you for your visit. Have a beautiful first day in December.
Blessings, Celestina Marie
