Welcome back to visit a bit more of my holiday home tour. This room is where we read, watch TV and enjoy gatherings.
I always put up a woodland tree here too since we are in this room so much.
Living in the south makes it wonderful to decorate with magnolia leaves. This year I made several garlands to top furniture pieces like this vintage hutch. Mixed with hydrangeas, tinsel and pine cones.
Recently I found this wire basket perfect for vintage ornaments.
The most cherished treasure in this room is my nativity hand created by my mother in the 70's. She put so much love into designing these pieces with details and antiquing. This is the first year I placed it here in our family room/library. But I feel we can enjoy it better close by where we relax. Above the TV cabinet it displays the reason for this joyous season.
As we leave this room, I will take you up stairs to a guestroom. I just redesigned this room and it is ready for our guests on my next home tour post. Hope you can return, your room will be ready.
The vintage sewing machine way up high in this decorators gallery, was my grandmothers. The second view is looking back down from the top of the stairs.
Have a wonderful winter's day.
See you tomorrow.

Celestina,
Love your Christmas decor in this room and the nativity set is such a treasure to have.
I adore the vintage sewing machine and the whole vignette. I bet it was not easy getting that machine up there. I know how heavy they can be!
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Beautiful Celeste, just beautiful. Your home has so many warm and welcoming touches. Your Grandmothers sewing machine looks awesome as does your Mothers beautiful Nativity set. Your woodland tree looks beautiful and the room looks so cozy and inviting. I love your basket of vintage ornaments too. I can't wait to see the guest room! ~Diane

piękna, świąteczna atmosfera :) pozdrawiam życząć pięknych, ciepłych świąt :)
The nativity set created by your mother is a real treasure! So is your grandmother's sewing machine. All you decorating is lovely.
Dearest Celestina Marie,
Love your Grandmother's sewing machine. I got one just like yours from my maternal Grandma who was also my Godmother. But I left it with my family when I immigrated. Now I regret it as it is no longer in the family. I would have kept it forever but thought it is not correct for taking a family heirloom across the ocean.
Hind sight...
You have a lovely home and your mother's nativity scene is so special.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
