Hi Friends,
Recently I showed you this awesome plant stand I found junkin.
Loved this white iron stand and it holds an old vintage bucket perfectly.
For the vintage bucket, I painted it white and filled it with dirt and pretty spring flowers.
Looks pretty but I wanted to add
a label like it was from a garden shop.
So I searched my stash of word art from etsy
and printed Flower Market on card stock.
I repeated it twice to save on paper and to use the second print
another time on something else.
Next I cut the size I wanted for the bucket
to form a label on the front of the bucket.
Now I wanted it to look
like an old label with distress and wear.
I used distress inks
in walnut and aqua which looks slightly green mixed with the walnut.
The perfect age combo.
I like to use these little sponges with handles to apply the
inks. They run along the edge nicely and keeps the ink right
where you want it for aging.
After the inks are dry to the touch.
I painted over the label using
outdoor modpodge.
If you do this, make sure you let the label dry
on something that it will not stick to after you applied the glue layer.
It will look like this, but dries clear, flat and outdoor tolerant.
Once completely dry, I added it to the bucket
by again just gluing it in place with the outdoor modpodge.
Ready to take any weather and stay in place.
Pretty on the patio.
This old bucket has been with me for years
and up close it has dents and bumps,
distress and charm.
Perfect fit for the stand I found junkin.

Good Morning! This is a lovely project. What a great piece for your porch. Wishing you many blessings this week.
I love the way it turned out! I didn't know about outdoor Mod Podge either!
Your stand was a great find, Celestina! Looks like the bucket was a match made in heaven! Love your addition of the label, that's a great tip to cover the label first with the outdoor Mod Podge! I'll check out your newsletter for sure, have a great day!!
I LOVE it, Celeste! Such a simple change and it gave the bucket a brand new look. Love that stand, too!
HI Celeste! Oh, the flower holder is lovely! I've never seen anything like this before. I love love your label you've used and thank you for the tute on how to apply it. I haven't Modge podged much and didn't know there was an outside one. The finished bucket - oh so pretty! Your flowers are gorgeous too and I know they are so happy to be living in such a pretty place! ;)
It always makes me smile when I see your pretty smiling face on my comments!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Too cute for words and a great find. You made it into something fun and fabulous! xo
I just love it, Celestina Marie. How very perfect for that old pail. I have so much to do when I get home and I do have a couple of old pails that I could certainly dress up with something like this!
Hope you are having a great day. I am at the car dealership waiting for my car so I can head down to my daughters. A 15 minute job has become a 2+hour one. UGH- xo Diana
Hello dear Celestina Marie,
You have so many wonderful ideas, and this one with painting your old bucket for the metal-stand looks (like all others ) so beautiful.
I love how you distressed the paper to look old, and your spring flowers are so lovely.
Thank you dear for your lovely comments on my blog, I treasure them very much.
Hugs,Dorthe
You have given me an idea! Love your blog so much, there is always so much inspiration! You seem to show the things that inspire me! Have a great day!
This is totally fantastic, and that label looks like it has been there for decades - very clever! Keep up the good work, Hugs, Valerie
I remember you showing that awesome plant stand. Now with your charming Market Flower bucket it is perfect and beautifully displays Spring Smiling Flowers. Creative Bliss...
Celeste, this is beautiful. I love the planter and stand...so pretty! You certainly are very creative. I know how bad Bloggers been lately, wouldn't allow me to add photos for my Home Tour Monday, so it was late getting posted. Hope you saw that post too! I'm so glad I found the BioMat!! You will be too.

CELESTE!!! Oh my goodness, that bucket is gorgeous. YOU KNOW it's now too late to resist making one myself, don't you? ;) I have just the bucket too, and I've always wanted to do something with it because it looks too new. This is PERFECT!!! I keep my varnished French bread loaves in it, so a similar label would be perfect.
Thank you for stopping by the table, and for your lovely comments on the rosettes.
xoxo's...
Dear Celestina Marie,
How wonderful! I love your bucket and stand with the pretty flowers.
It looks like it has come from an old flower market and love the distressed label. The little sponges with handles look like they are great - thanks for sharing. Always lovely to see all the inspiration you share.
Happy week
hugs
Carolyn

This is gorgeous Celeste, what a stunning piece for any patio! You certainly have an eye for what can be made into a stunning piece! ~Diane
Oh how pretty! I've missed reading several of your posts, and all of them are so inspiring! I've tried using that distress ink before, but mine never looked quite right. I'll pin your picture, and maybe I can make mine turn out a little better next time. laurie
