Hi Friends
Hope you enjoyed a nice first weekend of summer.
LJ and I brought in the first day of summer in a special way
with a drive in the country and picnic along the way.
The weather was perfect and we promised ourselves to enjoy many more picnics this season.

Well it looks like I have been on a roll with my lampshade creations
creating another shade design using a French graphic.
To begin, I gathered a pretty linen shade which topped
a bathroom lamp I use in our second floor guest bathroom.
Next I used the pretty La Bain graphic I purchased from etsy.
and printed it in the reverse with my inkjet printer
on Transfer Fabric Artist Paper.
At this point, I cut as close to the graphic as possible
for applying it to the shade with a dry iron on a hot setting.
This was the tricky part, I had to be careful not to press the hot iron too hard on the shade
since the inside was shaped with an acrylic type layer under the linen and leaving the heat in place too long or pressing too hard would cause the backing to melt. Not a good thing~~
However this would work nicely using a fabric shade with a wire form, but still pressing lightly with the tip of the iron so as not to stretch the shade's fabric.
Once ironed in place, I lightly lift to see if all transferred.
If not, you can gently place back on the shade and apply the iron again.
Remember you use a dry iron, not steam.
The transfer fabric paper comes with directions for application.
For areas that did not copy completely,
I just use a sharpie pen and lightly fill in the missing areas.
Here is the lamp in place on the bathroom vanity.
I love how it turned out with a bit of faded charm giving it an aged look.
In the evening the glow is so cozy and lights the way for guests
to find their way to La Bain~
Thank you for stopping by.
I love your visits and comments.

Good Morning, Celeste. What a lovely shade and just perfect for your guest bath. I love the warm glow from a lamp. I hope you enjoy your day. Hugs, Mildred
What a great result. I'm a fan of neutral coloured lamps and I think the way the lettering fades really adds to the charm. It's surprising how lighting affects the mood of a room so much and your lamp creates a warm glow. Your weekend souinds lovely and picnics are one of the best things about summer.
Thank you very much for your comment and your birthday wishes.
WOW. You are really, really good, Celeste. I'm over here trying to gather and sew a ruffled tulle bedskirt and just about to give up! This is fantastic. Summer is certainly the time to get into the swing of creativity because even my husband had a chance to reupholster a little bench for me! OH! I think I will make a tulle skirt for that too....off to start my day! Have fun! Anita
It looks amazing! I like a lamp in the bathroom.. makes it seem cozy.

Stop by - I've announced the Winner!
Hugs,

Wow this is gorgeous, I love it and I have never seen anything close to it anywhere! Makes me want to get out a lampshade too! I have to do some catching up this week, I spent the last week somewhat internet free, visiting with my daughter who came home for a visit. ~Diane
What a pretty lampshade, Celestina! You are on a roll with your shade transformations:) It does look like it would be tricking ironing on the rounded surface, but you did an awesome job! It make your toilette look so cozy and tres chic!!
Yet another beautiful creation... I believe the lamp looks perfect in its new location.. Ilove lamplight.. It does not matter how bright.. the glow of a light just sees to change a room..there is a bilbical lesson in that...You have been blessed with such a creative and beautiful taste for decor..plus much less expensive than buying one.. Have a great day.. Blessings!
I love how you gave your lampshade some great personality!!

What a beautiful touchhroom to your bathroom counter Celeste! I love both of your lampshade makeovers. Very well done and you make us think we might be able to do this ourselves!! Lol I have 2 sofa table lamps in our fam rm/tv rm that need a redo and I appreciate any ideas. Love these two that you've done.
Many blessings & much love, Edie
This turned out beautifully! I love lamps rather than overhead lighting, they give off such a pretty glow. You turned an ordinary shade into a thing of beauty!

So pretty!
Celestina,
The French graphic lamp is so lovely. You did a great job on it. It looks so nice on your bathroom counter. I was browsing through the last posts also, and I liked the other lamp and table you worked on. I think you are one of the most creative and talented friends I have in blog land.
I hope the June days are being good to you. Husband gave me his cold and I'm sneezing and coughing Grrrrr.....and just staying inside and visiting my favorite blogs.
love,
~Sheri
A drive and a picnic...2 of my favorite things! Sounds like a lovely time with your sweetie.
Your lamp is so pretty. My day is always beautified by a visit to your blog.
Love,

Wow! I love the lamp and your style. I wondered how everyone had those wonderful graphics. Didn't know you could purchase them. Do you buy and they are downloaded from the etsy shop? I think it even looks great without the complete transfer. Makes it look chippy. Just too cute! Thanks for stopping my little ol' blog. I appreciate it so much.
Oh that's right, you're from Texas, Celestina! Jess loved the barbecue ribs there. Do you know that I've always wanted to go there?.....maybe someday.
Have a lovely evening.
~Sheri

Such beauty, Celestina.
That is a lovely guest bathroom you have.
I just love my visits here in your cozy southern place, always so warm, inviting and inspiring.
Joy in the Lord! Debbie
I love your lamps and shades. I never thought to put a lamp on the bathroom vanity, and I think it's such a wonderful idea for soft lighting at night.
Lovely transfer on your lamp. Appreciate the details on how to transfer to a lamp shade.

Beautiful! Nice job and good tip on using the Sharpie because lord knows, I've tossed a lot of transfers because the ink didn't completely adhere.

The lamp is adorable, I love the graphic! A lucky guest to use that cute bathroom. Lovely!

I have never tried to do a graphic in that manner. I must give it a try.
Your lampshade is lovely and I was thinking that even is some of it didn't adhere perfectly, it would just look vintage.
Thanks for the sweet words on my blog post.
I love it, Celestina. You come up with such beautiful ways to customize your home. (I'm not sure how you were able to iron that on, but you did it beautifully.) laurie
I love this, Celestina. I have done lamp shades like this and they can be very tricky, but yours turned out great. Very pretty.
I love this Celestina it is so pretty and looks perfect in your bathroom. Great job.
