A few years ago, LJ built this wonderful wood bench with a bottom shelf.
I have used it in many a spot around our cottage
and it's seen several colors of paint.
This newest fresh paint finish is a soft neutral with added distress.
Most recently I discovered it was the exact width of
my center bow window in the dining room to fit between the curtains.
Perfect to create a movable window seat.
Since I change the decor up so often,
being able to move it to another spot is perfect for me.
To the top I added a wonderful French hotel graphic
stenciled in a dark charcoal.
I often use this color for stencils as it is a lot less harsh then black
but still looks dark enough.
To the front I stenciled the address of the hotel.
Then comes the fun part of adding a few accents.
To the shelf I added a few of my favorite design books along with
a vintage house mouse my mother created about 30 years ago.
This French box is perfect to hold extra napkins or even a stack of dessert plates.
This large floor bunny stays out year round.
He wears a glossy black ribbon.
You never know where this fellow will be.
I move him around often.
The light weight crocheted throw is perfect for summer and softens the bench a bit.
A little spot to read or watch the rain.
So sorry all these pics are a bit gloomy.
We've had so much rain and overcast for days.
It was even raining while taking these photos.
I like being able to move this bench when needed since I
put a tall Christmas tree in this window for the holidays.
Now this wasn't a big deal, but just a cute little window seat idea.
Maybe you have a bench that would fit perfectly in a window.
With the dining room complete, I'll be looking around for another
room for change!!
See you next time.
Have a wonderful last day of June.

Good Morning, I love the idea of a movable window seat. You both did a great job. We had heavy rain last night and it continues this morning; quite dreary!
Wishing you a day filled with many blessings.
Your Bench is adorable Celeste!! and your Dining Room is Gorgeous!! I hope the Sun comes out for you today!!

What a cozy spot you have created, perfect for reading a book or watching for friends to arrive. ~Diane
What a pretty and inviting area, Celeste! The graphics are perfect addition to your bench. Your accessories make this such a welcoming area that says,"stop and sit a while"!
I am having so much fun watching your "moveable feast" of interiors this summer, Celeste! What a great way to cozy up what is already an inviting observatory with the bowed windows, and the softening up of the bench with the pillow is my favorite. AND, your bunny....we have a metal rabbit that I love to move around. My husband never knows where he will see "Gabbert" next!
We had another downpour the other day that just about finished my basil. But, thank goodness we do have water!
Enjoy your day! Anita
I love what you've done with your bench and where you've used it as a window bench in your dining room. Love the graphic!
I've often thought your lace is so pretty on your windows. With this pretty close-up for the window bench, I see it's the same lace panels I have on my windows. I love them!!
Hugs...

Celestina, It was fun making that bench for you. Your artistic creativity made it look fantastic. XXOO

Wow! The bench is great within itself, but with the added graphics, it is fabulous! The bottom shelf vignette is nicely pulled together and I love the photograph of the book open and the pillow. You room looks like it belongs in a French Chateau.

stenciled in charcoal, on top of it and in the front.
Decorated with your sweet things, and the lovely throw it looks gorgeous.
Thank you my friend for your so sweet comments alwayes ,and for being so understanding.

Very pretty, Celeste! I love the stencil you used on the bench seat. I will have to remember that tip about using charcoal colored paint instead of black. I actually do that with eyeliner so why not paint? : ) I really like your window treatments in here and love the iron piece you've put above each window. I see you've got some great design books in your collection, too!
What a great idea sweetie, it's such a nice place to sit and read or just enjoy the view ;-) love how you gave her a pretty paint job, I adore bunnies and the one you have place by the bench is a beauty. How special that you have a sweet little mouse in your house...lol...that your dear mom made ;-)....
Your dining room is gorgeous Celeste, but so is the rest of your lovely home...

Love your bench...Thank you for the tip on using grey for the stencil, you are right, black is sometimes to harsh and dark....Hope the sun is out today!
