Welcome to this weeks
Today I am sharing something a little different with a wood fence.
When I saw this tangled grapevine growing on and over a fence with a vine arbor attached,
I just had to take a photo of this.
At the time there was no leaves or green on it.
I'll have to go back and see if it's growing.
The trunk of the vine can get huge as they age and
look more like a tree then part of a grapevine.
Not sure if this is a vine trying to be saved by the owner growing over the fence
or left over from a living vine that has died.
We grow grapes in this part of Texas but I have never seen something like this growing
onto a fence with an arbor.
What do you think?
Is it living or just a mangled mess?
Time will tell and I hope to share more as this story continues.

Morning, Celeste! Oh, that is an interesting spot! The grape vine looks like it's trying to pull itself out of the earth! ;) It probably produced lots of grapes at one time. Thanks for sharing your lovely snaps.

Oh, I feel sorry for the poor thing! I think when you go back to it, there will be some kind of life left. Can't wait to see!

Oh would have thought it was a dying tree as I did not know vines grew so huge!

What an interesting find. I've never seen a grape vine with a trunk that huge before. I do hope you go back to see if it's growing and green.
In the new area where I live there are numerous vineyards, so this here is no comparison, but when these long branches are blooming it may look better:) In any case it's a good fence:)

Things that we pass by often are forgotten or go unnoticed, but it's such a good exercise to look at them and see their potential. I'd like to see what this tangled mess will become in late spring! Kinda like some of us....a tangled mess but full of potential!!!!!!
You definitely must return to see what happens. I'm hoping you find lots of green and beautiful big grape leaves on long twisted vines.

I had no idea that Texas was a big grape grower! It looks the the owner tried to take part of it out and one point and ran out of steam:) Hope you have a good weekend!

Whether this grapevine is living or not it is a piece of art with the fencing. I am glad to see it wasn't chopped down. Creative Fences Bliss...

I've never seen such a huge trunk on a grapevine, it must have taken a very long time to grow so big. Surely it will spring back to life again but it doesn't look promising, does it?
