This,That and The Other

Hi Friends.
Hope you're enjoying a good weekend.

Today I'm sharing a bit of this and that sharing
no particular subject just pics from everyday life.

After a recent storm,
the next morning we woke to find this visitor swimming in the pool.

I couldn't believe it, this gorgeous Mallard Duck flew in for a swim.

He looked just like a decoy at first till we saw his little webbed feet paddling away
and he quaked loudly.
He stayed for awhile, then flew up and out of the water over the fence and on his way again.

In all our years here we have never had a duck stop by for a swim.
I'm still amazed.

Here's  BellaMoo with her new wreath collar of ivy.
You may remember when I got this beauty and shared the post

Well I shopped for a boxwood wreath on line and in stores and they were way over priced
so I made my own wreath but purchasing a small leaf, ivy garland half off at Hobby Lobby.
For 5 dollars, I created this neck wreath rather then purchase one for 95 dollars or more.

Here's another little visitor watching me while I tended to my roses the other day.
He sat for the longest time watching till he took the leap and jumped off the brick retaining wall.

Here's a quick chalk board project.
I painted a large old silver serving tray with chalk board paint.
Let dry, primed and placed it on the top of the fridge.
I see this every morning to greet my day.

That's it, for a little of this and that.

I hope you find

Today is a Good Day
For
A Good Day.

See you next time,
Celestina Marie

Ha- that's cute with the duck floating around! Is that a gecko? What a cute colorful little fella!
The wreath turned out great around the cow's head. It's crazy how much some of these things can cost.
Have a great weekend!

teeeheee....that duck....teeeeheeee

we have MANY of them here in the Land 'O Lakes! Last year with so much rain, our streets were flooded. I saw a mallard one day taking a free ride downstream in the gutter. It was hilarious; he was bobbing up and down and sideways, allowing the current to take him DOWN!

Enjoy your weekend sweet friend. LOVE THAT WREATH! Anita

This happened years ago to our neighbors. We couldn't believe it. Love your garland turned wreath. I adore my cow head I haven't dressed it up yet. I may put a spin on your idea. Have a super weekend

What a fun surprise that must have been to see Mr. Mallard swimming in your pool, Celestina! I'm glad you were able to take his picture:) What a great idea for a wreath, so much more affordable than the boxwood, and just as pretty! Love your tray turned chalkboard, and the fun quote! Have a great weekend!

Oh, how cute to see the duck in the pool - reminds me of when I lived in a condo in Milwaukee. The pool was about 50' from my patio door and every morning, the mallards would show up for a swim, then fly away!!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Saturday sweet Celeste,
Oh that crazy Mallard duck so cutely swimming in your pool. He gave you a fun photo opportunity and I can see him on a handmade invite to a pool party!

I love little Lizards and when visiting my brother in Florida I enjoy watching them, they are amusing.

Yes Boxwoods wreaths are costly. I purchased one this part winter and I think they look wonderful during the winter holidays. Tip for those who own one you should give it a mist of water from a spray bottle once a month to retain their green.

I really love your Ivy wreath Celeste and Bella Moo looks ready for the Summer months. Lovely look to the wreath.
Sending love,
Xoxo,
Vera

I see ducks in our neighborhood pool too. It's funny because our neighborhood has several ponds and a creek but they choose the pool at times. :)

Love your chalkboard on the silver tray.

that Mallard looks right at home in your beautiful water!!! I really like the ivy collar you made looks beautiful!

I see ducks and Canada geese around our area quite often. Hopefully yours will not return with friends. One lady in our neighborhood had that happen and it was such a mess she had to drain her pool and keep it drained until they decided to quit coming. I love lizards but do not see them very often at all. When I lived in California as a child we would see them and Horned toads as well, which was a lizard that had spikes, looked like a dinosaur, and would squirt blood from their eyes!!

Bonjour! You've been a busy girl with all your little guests! So sweet! BellaMoo is all decked out in her new ivy necklace and I love the saying on your tray. We've been having some fabulous days but will be flying home tomorrow, Sunday. My mom always said it's nice to go away but even nicer to come home. Just wish I could bring this place home with me to share with everyone!!

Love and hugs, Edie

Your quote of "Today is a Good Day for a Good Day" reminds me of saying to Mr. C, "If I felt better I would feel better". It made all the sense to me. Love Bella Moo and her new creative affordable wreath collar you have created. We have a pair of Mallard ducks who fly in and spend time in our pond. I love it...until I remember what a "mess" they can make. Nature is amazing isn't it and all we have to do is observe to enjoy it all. Creative Bliss Dear...

My sister had 2 ducks take a swim in her pool regularly, but I've had my pool for 10 years and have never had that type of visitor, he is a gorgeous one you got to photo. Is that little green guy a newt/gecko? He's a beautiful color! And, love Ms BellaMoo - She's just perfect in your kitchen! Have a beautiful rest of your weekend. Oh and btw: will you come to Phx and paint the waves for my mural - lol - just can't get them right. Guess I'm just going to have to imagine pretty waves in the back yard - :)
Blessings, Cindy

BellaMoo looks lovely these days. I'm sure she feels quite fancy with her new necklace!
I wonder if there is a Mrs. Mallard with a nest nearby? That would be fun!
Hope you're doing well; I've been a little AWOL lately, so glad to catch up with my blog friends like you! xo

I love posts of "this and that" which are the makeup of our lives.

You had some sweet visitors. My sister and her husband live in the hills, but not a rural area and one night they were awakened by horrible screaming. A mountain lion had gotten into their pool. It took animal control hours to get the screaming mountain lion out. Your little mallard was a much better guest.

Love the bits and pieces post. You did a great job on your wreath for the cow. Looks great. Love all of your projects. Have you all had bad weather! We've been thru storm after storm and so much rain. I know later in the summer we will be wanting that abundance of rain but right now, everything is so saturated.

Have a great week!

Hi Celestina,
The happy little duck swimming in your pool gave me a chuckle. I remember waking up one late winter/early spring morning and seeing a raccoon sitting in my daughter's sled which was left at the top of the hill. It was as though he was waiting for a push! I wonder if your little visitor will return.....Also I love, love that tray you painted! I have been thinking about doing that very project. I do have a tray but I think I will look around for another in a thrift shop. Enjoyed all your photos, always do nice to visit you! Have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Linda

Love this post today, Celeste! It is nice to read about a little of this and a little of that. : ) I had to smile at your visitor. He may come back every year now. In NY, we had a pair of ducks (male and female) who would come to visit our pool - even before the cover was off! For about 10 years we had a pair of ducks and I am assuming they were the same couple.

Love your cow head. She looks great with her wreath of ivy. I recently bought a small rabbit head (from Antique Farmhouse). It's supposed to be a hook but it's pretty big and I'm using it as a decorative piece on the wall in our dining area (post coming soon!).

Look at that mallard duck just floating in your pool, what a sight that must have been! And the other little visitor - I'll tell you a secret... I get startled every time I see a lizard. They are a bit creepy to me, and I run away from them haha. I'm surprised you got a picture of it because they scurry away so quickly.

I love your 'this and that' pictures today, Celestina. Random pictures are actually my favorite ones.

love, ~Sheri

Celeste, I hope you get to Ireland, the memories are a treasure. It's a haunting place, and the people are so kind and love to laugh. Texas had a lot of Irish
as I remember. I lived in Houston
as a child. Can remember my Mom dragging us to Sunday Mass at Annunciation Church by the Trains.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day. yvonne

That Mallard doesn't even look real in your pool. Before I read your commentary, I thought he was a decoy. That was such a beautiful surprise. Love your chalkboard saying. Wonderful way to start the day.

I almost forgot about BellaMoo's new necklace. I love it! I think I need to get to HB for some of that ivy to make some wreaths for my house. Wreaths are sooo expensive. As always, thanks for the inspiration, Celeste.

I've always wanted a boxwood wreath too but they are a bit pricey! I even looked up how to make one myself... anyway, your diy one looks good. We have lizards out back.. they love the warm brick I guess. And we raise mallard ducks so seeing your duck on the pool reminds me of our ducks on the pond. I love your this, that and the other post Celestina!
