Hi Friends~
Hope you're week's off to a great start.
Recently I cut a few long stems from my garden to bring inside and enjoy.
Lovely blooms of pink, red and yellow.
Using my photo programs, I created a pretty watercolor of this bouquet.
I use PicMonkey, or for quicker edits, PhotoScape.
Each has it's own specialties.
Here's another idea~
The photo was a little blurred.
But perfect as a watercolor.
From real to watercolor.
Here's another idea~
The photo was a little blurred.
Lastly, a little bouquet of knock out roses.
From real to watercolor.
These watercolors were all completed using PicMonkey.
If you use this program and do not know how to get this look,
open the edits section under Effects then scroll to Posterize.
I had to experiment a lot to find this for watercolor.
You would never think posterize would contain this edit, but it does.
From there you can raise of lower the percentages and degree of the changes then save your work.
In PicMonkey,
I have the Royale version
which is a pay ever two years program, but I'm not sure the free program has this edit version for watercolor.
You can try and see.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

How pretty! I will definitely be looking for this feature. :)
Hello Stacy, lovely flowers and the watercolors are beautiful. I love the red roses. Happy Monday, have a great week ahead!
Your images are striking, Celestina.
I enjoy experimenting with the different programs offered, too.
Thank you for your encouraging comment at Seashells and Lavender the other day. You warmed my heart.
Love to you.

Celeste, you are a clever lady to use the watercolor effect that is on the PicMonkey. It has been a while since I have tried using them. I'll check and see if the watercolor effect is on the free edition. Thank you for sharing your lovely roses!
Hi Celeste!
This is so cool! I love the effect you get. I haven't used Picmonkey very much but will have to check it out and see what I can try using your instructions.
Thanks for sharing this great fun tool!
Love to you and yours!! Edie
Good Morning
Your roses are just so beautiful, you have so many different varieties!!! I love the watercolor effect. I have never tried this but now I am anxious to get out in my garden and take some pictures so I can try it. Have a great day today

Hi Celestina,
Your roses are so pretty, I can almost smell them from here:) That is such a neat feature on PicMonkey, I didn't know it was under posterize. I love playing around with PM. I don't have the Royale feature, but I'll look and see if the watercolor option is available on the free program:)
Love the flowers and your edits! Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie
Lovely !!!!!
I use fotor.com for my pictures.
Have a creative week !

Good morning Celeste! OH, I love Picmonkey! I use it mainly for making collages or my blog headers, since I have Photoshop to lighten or sharpen the image. This app look like FUN! I believe there is an app for iphone called Waterlogue that also gives you a watercolour effect! So many fun tools to play with! Your roses are simply gorgeous, especially that yellow one! Much love, Anita
These are so beautiful! Picmonkey is my go to photo editor, although I do use Picasa and sometimes Photoscape. I also have the Royale version and know exactly where posterize is. I never experimented with it much since I wasn't real fond of that effect. Thanks for the tip...I will need to try that! Have to ever tried BeFunky? It has a free version with many great editing and effects...including a watercolor one that really like. It is a free download too. Thanks for sharing and have a great Monday!
Ooh, I love how the watercolor effect turned out on your already beautiful flowers. Watercolor or oil based (Photoshop techniques) always make a blurry picture look GOOD! Love your pretties)
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
your roses are just lovely. i do hope texas and lousiana stay safe from more flooding this week!
Hi Celeste, the watercolour effect, is just beautiful :O)
Wonderful roses!
Have a happy and blessed new week, my dear friend!
Sending Love and hugs,
Claudia
What a really neat idea! I have seen that watercolor effect as an app for your phone, but I have never checked Picmonkey. I was playing around with filters there last week...I have the free version and didn't notice it, but I wasn't looking specifically for it. Now I will! What a great idea for blurry photos!!
Celeste,
Simply lovely effect... You've encouraged me to try it out. Watercolored through PicMonkey or just photographed your roses from your garden are beautiful.
xoxo,
Vera
Gorgeous roses, Love the watercolor effect too! The Posterize function is free to all, I had no idea thats what it did till now. thanks for sharing. ~Diane
Celeste, Very pretty watercolor effects. I use Photoshop Elements to do this to some photos and I love the effect too. Enjoy your week! Linda
Love those watercolor effects. Watercolor is my favorite method of painting. Seems I don't have much time to do it anymore. Must get back to it.
Judy
Such wonderful images! Your roses are lovely and the effects you have used are beautiful.
Have a lovely week!

Celestina, what incredible photography! Your roses are truly exquisite in each photograph! I love playing with my photographs, isn't it just the best fun?
Have a great week!
Nancy
Celestina such pretty pictures and thanks for sharing this great feature on PicMonkey. I use PM a lot but have never tried this effect. I can do watercolors with my smart phone but don't always have it with me. I'm going right over to check it out and don't be surprised if you see something on my next post, with great credit to you..Happy Monday.,Judy
Dearest Celeste,
These all turned out lovely, and I think that was such a savvy way to make use of blurred photo as well. I had never thought of that, in fact I always get so aggravated with myself when I think I have a good photo to only find out it needs to be deleted. I enjoy picmonkey too and for this non-tech, gal it is so user friendly. Your knock outs are gorgeous, they are one of my favorite blooms and so well suited to our North Texas landscape.
Let us keep our fingers crossed that the rain stays away, our lakes just aren't dropping fast enough.
I enjoyed your visit today, it was so nice to hear from you!
Warmest of Hugs to a lovely Lady,
Jemma
I recently paid for Picmonkey and am Loving it! I used Photoshop Elements for awhile but could never really understand the whole program so I was Thrilled to find picmonkey! Love your 'paintings' and truly your roses are beautiful! Many blessings my friend! Cindy
Thanks you for sharing this great tip at our Cooking & Crafting with J & J party! Have a nipple day and week!

Looks like fun! You got some great results.
Thank you for spreading beauty and charm, sweet Celeste. Your images were such a joy to look at. I love the water color effect....the knock out roses are my favorite :)
Thank you so much, dear friend, for sharing with Roses of Inspiraton. Hugs to you!
I meant to tell you how much I appreciated you coming by and commenting on my quilting blog. I finally finished the embroidered fabric painted fairytale quilt and sent it to the family! It was a lot of fun, but took me a while, and I doubt if I will ever do anything that complex again for a gift. I oil paint, but haven't done a canvas in a few years except for a portrait of my brother's dog who passed on. I used to glaze tiles...check out my other blog, bluelotustile some time when you have a minute (I also posted the fairytale quilt on piece-fulness) to see the work I did then. I stopped when we moved here four years ago...never had my own kiln and it was pricey getting the pieces fired so I gave it up. Have sold or given away most of the tiles I made but I still have a few. I just love being creative....am concentrating on quilting and embroidery these days. You have such a fascinating blog, with interesting creative posts. Thanks for taking the time to visit the quilting blog and commenting...it meant a lot!
Oh how fun! Amazing all the things we can do with computers, and phones I might add.
I found a place on my phone that I can change a photo into a cartoon look, so I did one of my husband and the grandkids got a real kick out of it. They couldn't believe it wad their "Pa" :-)
Enjoy your day, my friend.
Much love ~ Debbie
Beauty and charm on programs. I use other programs. Yours are lovely.
Now I am in doing small slides.
I did my older son a slide for his Birthday. Working on one for my sister in-laws Birthday. You use your own pictures and there is cute things applied you can put on. You need time. Not something you can just quickly do first time.
You should have a look. It is free.
Kizoa Free Photo Creativity. Write it in on your browser.
I didn't know you could to this! Now neat! :)
Thanks for joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J!

Beautiful roses Celeste...this program reminds me of that iPad watercolor app....
They are all pretty, but I really like the last one, because it looks like a greeting card. xoxo Su
