Pickets, Barbed Wire and Longhorns

Welcome Friends
to

Going back through the archives,
 I found this great photo
sharing my favorite picket fences
with a barbed wire fence.

The handsome fellow here was keeping his eye on me while I took the photo.

When I met this fellow,
I was glad this good fence was between us.

He acted friendly enough,
but I am wise enough to know my place.

He studied me for some time before walking off.
I guess he realized I was just there to admire his beauty
and respect his purpose.

Thank you for letting me take your photo
Mr. Longhorn.
Have a good day in your Texas pasture.

Fabulous picture, my friend. The last time my husband, son, and I went to Texas the little one couldn't wait to see Longhorns {{smiles}} We live in a ranching community and once in a while we will see one or two, but he was tickled pink at how many he saw on our trip to Texas :)

Enjoy the upcoming weekend. Hugs!

I so love running into these creatures...they take me back to Rawhide! Remember that show? There were a few of these locally, but they are no longer there. I don't know whether they were sold or moved to another place.

You know, there are so many beautiful kinds of fancy fencing but to me, barbed wire is definitely one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of the fence itself, but what is behind the fence is usually where the real beauty lies. Love it :)

Wow he was a big one wasn't he, those horns are something else, you have to admire the strength that they must have that's for sure. When we went to Custer State park and the Bison were on either side of our car and as tall as our car it was quite scary, especially when they would look at us like I don't think you belong here. I love the angle of your picture and the pretty green and yellow contrast of the field.

I meant to post a comment on this the other day but got sidetracked. I love cows!!! He is so handsome. When I go to our local Fair, that's the first place I run to... the "Livestock tent" so I can see all of the cows. Last year I saw a cow in labor give birth.

Have a blessed weekend :)
