Happy July!!
Where did June go?
We're about to celebrate
Independence Day 2016
and
then the remainder of the summer seems to fly by.
I don't do a lot of patriotic decorating,
but I do like to highlight a few areas of my home
using treasures from my stash of reds, whites and blues.
**********
I always say,
"The welcome begins at the front door"
Most of you have seen my door urn,
the one I change with the seasons,
well ~
it gets a little patriotic pop
by adding ribbon and stars.
Wood and fabric stars with buttons are added to the top.
Americana ribbon is added by creating a fluffy bow
to the base.
To my front red bench, I simply added a flag pillow
and
a few little flags in the basket of boxwood and hydrangea.
Easy and not expensive.
By adding little flags here and there, you have instant 4th of July decorating.
Walking inside, I like to have a little seasonal greeting as well.
By placing a few flag stars in the large urn of greens,
it's fast quick and has holiday impact.
And,
I might add, accents usually look better in odd numbers.
To the coat stand,
I simply fill a large metal tussie with a few summer flowers
and a flag topped with my cowgirl hat.
It's Texas you know!!!
Another quick decorating accent
is to just add double ribbons tied around a candle with a natural wood star held in place
with a sticky dot.
The dot makes it easy to change out after the holiday without gluing to the ribbon or candle.
I placed the candle on a red transferware plate
and it's ready to enjoy.
By the way,
this is a luminary candle on a timer.
Do you have these?
I've enjoyed these for years and have them all around the cottage.
It looks so real when flickering
and the timer setting is perfect.
To the right of the entrance is the dining room.
Here I simply pulled out my red and blue vintage dishes
for the table, hutch and inside cabinet display.
For the centerpiece, I added red, white and blue ribbon tied to
three little white birds placed on a red transfer plate for instant
Patriotic style all displayed on my metal cake plate.
To the base I add a wreath of evergreen.
To my basket weave plates by Waverly,
I added vintage Blue Willow bowls
and vintage red goblets.
The napkins are a set I hand stitched for my Blue Willow collection.
Sorry I didn't get a better pic of those, but you get the idea.
Inside the hutch I mix red, white and blue treasures.
Vintage platters, soup tureen and cups add to the theme.
And of course, white roosters love to stand here among the pretties.
***********
To the hutch top, I arrange a few more vintage treasures with ribbon,
lace and America wood flag word plaque.
So you see I make it easy and quick using what I have on hand.
By just adding ribbons, candles and flags to the mix it works.
Through the kitchen and out to the patio, I do the same.
It's just enough without being too much!
Thanks for sharing and stopping by to view some red, white and blue.
Do you decorate for the 4th of July?
I'd love to hear how you accent your home.
Have a great weekend and Happy 4th of July.
See you soon.

Very pretty! You do more than I do. This celebration day always creeps up on me. I love the way you combined dishes and the wreath too. :)
Your home is so lovely, Celeste! I like using the red and blue transferware together in the cabinet! I usually decorate a bit but didn't really have the energy this year, so just a couple of little things and that's it. Less that I have to put away next month :) Have a great Independence Day! Blessings, Cindy xo

Hi Celeste, I love all your patriotic touches. I really love your blue and red tablescape. The little flags and ribbons make your home so festive. Happy Fourth!
So very, very festive and a perfect way to show your American spirit!
How do I decorate for the fourth of July? Can you believe this year we're all decked out in beige - as in moving boxes. Well, in some of them there's some red, some white and some blue. Have to do this year.
Celebrate big!

Also your room looks so happy in red ,blue and white and the table so wonderfully inviting, dear. Happy 4`th of July .

Your patriotic touches are so pretty and easy, Celeste. I love all your transfer ware in your dining room so very much. Yes, I do add touches around my house. My kitchen table has patriotic decor and my mantle does, too. I also changed out the covers on my pillows to red and white ticking that I made and I have a cross stitched pillow that I made long ago.
Happy 4th to you and your sweetie! Love and hugs, Kitty
It all looks wonderfully festive for the 4th!! I like your wooden America sign! The way you combined your red and blue dinner ware with the red glasses is so neat too! I think my favorite is the wooden stars with the fabric, so pretty!!
I do have quite a few items that I usually put out but since we don't have a basement everything is stored in my garage and since the kids moved in most of their stuff is in there so I can't get to my decorations this year. It has been so busy and tiring lately that I don't know if I would even have the energy to get it all out even if I could.
Hope you enjoy a terrific weekend, we are in for storms all weekend :(
For not doing much your home looks lovely and with just enough pop to enjoy the celebrations of this time of year.
Your front door is most welcoming,Celestina.
Have a blessed weekend~
Oh, my! Such lovely patriotic ideas.
Have a great 4th of July weekend.
All the red, white, and blue around your home is festive and patriotic, Celestina. I especially like that red bench with the flag pillow, so charming. The red goblets and dishes add a little extra something too. And the blue and white rooster is soooo cute.

Why, I just love your patriotic pops of color, my friend. I have so enjoyed preparing for the 4th of July this year. Normally I don't do much, but this year has been different {maybe I'm just getting older}. When I see the red, white, and blue I almost tear up as I think about America... I have been working on a special piano piece {America the Beautiful} for church tomorrow and when I play it I can't help but get chills as I think of all the Lord has done for our country.
May you have a blessed 4th, dear Celeste. Love to you!
I love your blue, white and red! Your tablescape looks fabulous. Happy july dear friend
Hugs
Alessandra
HI sweet Celeste! Oh, everything is so patriotic at your house! I'm ashamed to say, this year I haven't done anything except our American flag outside, which is usually flying anyway. I love what you did to your front door urn! And...everything thing inside looks beautiful! Love all of your pretty red, white and blue dishes in your china cabinet too! Looks like you're all set! Happy 4th!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Shut the door!!!! What do you mean you don't do a lot of patriotic decorating!!! It is all over your house and gorgeous..of course! Love your door wreath. As always you have the kindest words, I am so glad you liked the booths at the Flea, between you and me I think it may have grown bigger than I want, or want to handle. I am tossing around knocking it down a little to make it manageable and enjoyable? If you get a chance I would love your thoughts. thepolkadotcloset@live.com Thanks Celeste, Happy 4th of July.
