Good Fences Mississippi

Hi Friends
and
Happy New Year!

Hope you all enjoyed a great Christmas and New Year.

I sure missed everyone
while away from my desk
and missed

We had a great holiday and did some traveling
from
Texas
to
Mississippi.
Don't you love to spell Mississippi?
M i crooked letter, crooked letter i, crooked letter, crooked letter, i,  hump back, hump back i.
Do you remember this from grade school??

Anyway, it took 10 hours in pouring rain to reach my dear friend Marie.

We had the best time and saw a few
Good Fences too.

That is before my camera decided to take it's last photo.

I was able to grab a few from the camera card, but the rest were a total  blur.

Marie and her hubby live in a beautiful woodsy setting
with
19 peacocks,
13 chickens,
a beautiful koi pond,
and
 a sweetheart Austrian Sheepdog, Hobie.
So sorry I couldn't salvage any of the pics of sweet Hobie.

No pics of the chicks  either with the camera's demise,
but here is some photos,
that will show the peace, calm and serene atmosphere all around
this beautiful home front.

This setting and the days spent here,
really were comfort for my soul
and of course
 being with a dear friend
was a highlight of Christmas.

The long drive in towards the house.

Marie calls this the "ugly time" when the trees are bare and no flowers in full bloom and color.

But I found it to be perfect with nature in all her glory.

Peaceful and serene like this white albino peacock.

So proud to pose for the camera.

Strutting proudly for me.

A wishing well standing in the distance.

The Koi pond a lovely place to walk  and reflect.

Marie's beautiful gazebo in the woods.
The fence around it is a good fence too.

Another fence separating the wooded area.

A beautiful setting approaching and driving away.

It poured down rain most of the time
so I was really glad I did get these few photos before my camera
died.

The barn in the distance. You may see a few chickens between the trees.
Marie sent us home with fresh eggs straight from the chickens.
Oh they are so good!!

Along the lane a pasture with another good fence.

The best gift ever, don't you think?

and
The highlight was to see Marie's
Christmas village in her town for all to enjoy.

All my photos were a blur, but I did get this one
sharing sweet Marie standing with her famous village.

It's called
 "WhitmanVille"
and measures
124 feet long and 3 foot deep.

Seeing this was amazing and just takes you back to a simpler time and place.

Marie has shown and collected her village for 24 years.
Her town opens a building on Main street each year for visitors to come and enjoy.
It takes Marie over a week to set up.
Each piece is displayed perfectly and so life like.

Young and old alike marvel at the wonderful buildings.
It is truly spectacular at night with all the lights glowing
and
the music playing in the miniature village of
WhitmanVille!

Marie designs and creates Theater dolls among other French inspired dolls and designs.
You can find her on etsy

Her BLOG  Creations by Marie Antoinette and Edie Marie is co authored with Sherry from Edie Marie's Attic also on etsy
Sherry designs and creates upcycled treasures
along with offering vintage items from the 30's.
Stop by and say hello!

Thank you for visiting today.
I am working each day to get by to see each of you.
I missed you bunches while away
but
taking some time off to regroup
and
reconnect with life unplugged
was
just what I needed.

Now it's back to reality
and
routines.
However I am approaching the new year
with more simplicity.
De-cluttering the busyness of life,
setting new priorities for creativity
and
most important
Letting Go and Letting God.

Along with a few room redos too.
You didn't think I wouldn't have decorating to do, did you??

Oh it feels so good to start anew.

Thanks for stopping by
Good Fences.

See you next time with lots more!!

***Just a note about the google thingy***
Here is what I read on several blogs along with the report on line from blogspot.
You may remember I included this in a post several weeks ago
about followers disappearing from our google friends connect gadget.
More will fall off as of Jan 11th google friends will be dropped for anyone with
followers not having a google account or certain email addresses.
Time to add bloglovin or just go with google plus I suppose.
You can always follow by email but that may mean a clogged inbox.

Anyway,
Here is the info. below.

We announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of the plan starting the week of Jan.11th, 2016 we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.
